Sometimes it is difficult to determine when to go to the doctor, or the emergency room, or when an over-the-counter medication will be sufficient. Everyone can benefit from education - especially when it comes to something as important as your health.
The HealthPhone provides a nurse triage system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week designed to help you make decisions that will often avoid unnecessary and expensive services such as emergency room visits. QCP’s HealthPhone provides you the opportunity to receive confidential and sound medical information.
With the HealthPhone, you are given 24-hour toll-free telephone access to personal one-on-one health counseling with a trained nurse consultant. The nurse can offer:
- medical advice
- tips on how to be a smart healthcare consumer
- general information on health topics of interest (controlling cholesterol, diabetes, or chicken pox)
- peace of mind in uncertain situations
- an immediate alternative to an ER or physician visit when appropriate
If you are in need of medical advice, please refer to the back of your insurance card for the HealthPhone telephone and PIN numbers if your employer has subscribed to this service. If your employer has not subscribed to this service, please contact your human resources department to inquire if this may be an option they might consider for you in the future.
