Plans require pre-certification of various services. It is important to be familiar with these requirements before receiving treatment. Please refer to your plan document for the listing of services that require pre-certification.
Common pre-certification requirements are:
Inpatient hospital stays
Surgeries and outpatient invasive tests such as cardiac catherization, etc.
Emergency room visits
Durable medical equipment
It is important to note that these are just examples. Pre-certification requirements vary greatly between employers and health plans. If you are uncertain as to whether or not a service requires pre-certification, contact your plan administrator at the customer service number on your ID card or your human resources department.
If you need to obtain a pre-certification, you can start the process of getting approval by calling us at 740-455-5199. We look forward to helping you.
We have never really had to use the insurance much. So there was a lot we don’t know. QCP’s case manager was a godsend. She has been very helpful. Don’t know what we would have done without her being a resource to our family and a ready advocate for our family.
I really appreciated the help the QCP Utilization Review Nurse gave me on all my questions. I was really confused about all the things I had to do but you helped me a lot. I’m really pleased with the help I received from you. Thank you.
